Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
This page is maintained by Partr.ca to explain how we collect and use information when you use our marketplace for buying and selling PC parts in Canada. We aim for plain language — if anything is unclear, reach out before relying on it.
What we collect
When you create an account or post a listing, we collect:
- Account info: email address, chosen username, optional display name and province.
- Listing content: part details, price, photos, condition, city, and approximate coordinates.
- Basic usage signals required to run the service (e.g. authentication state).
Buyer–seller chats in the MVP are stored locally in your browser, not on our servers.
How we use it
- To show your listings to other Canadian buyers.
- To verify your identity for posting and messaging.
- To improve the product, debug issues, and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal data. We don't show third-party ads on Partr.ca.
Location data
Each listing displays its city and a fuzzy pickup-area circle on a map. We round coordinates to a neighbourhood-level radius so your exact address is never shown publicly. Your address is shared only after you choose to message a seller.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile and listings at any time from your account page.
- You can delete a listing to remove it from the marketplace.
- To delete your account and associated data, email us at hello@partr.ca.
